The DSN Small Business initiative for the Los Angeles and Orange County region brings the education and small business communities together to strategically identify skills and training gaps and retool both curriculum and workforce education and training programs. This effort not only helps meet the needs of employers but also prepares students through career pathways for the jobs of the future or to becoming employers themselves as future business owners. In collaboration with all components of the business and workforce development ecosystem (e.g., business, labor, professional trade associations, community colleges, high schools, and Regional Occupational Centers and Programs), the Small Business sector utilizes A network of "faculty champions" help execute this mission; college and high school faculty with a true passion for advancing small business and entrepreneurship education on their respective campuses and region-wide.
